Detail
Zero-order waveplates are typically formed by superimposing two thin quartz crystals in an orientation where the optical axes are crossed to each other. Comparing to multi-order waveplates, the zero-order waveplate can maintain a more stable retardation over a wider wavelength range and is less affected by temperature changes.
